포켓몬GO의 개발사 나이언틱은 지난 7일 자사의 블로그 [바로가기]에 Thank you라는 글을 게시, 그동안의 수상 내역을 말하며 "나이언틱과 우리의 파트너인 포켓몬 컴퍼니의 모든 사람을 대신해 감사드린다"고 유저들에 대한 고마움을 표시했다. 포켓몬GO는 지금까지 The Game Developers Choice Awards와 British Academy of Film, Television and Arts Game Awards 등 10개 이상의 상을 수상했다.
또한, 해당 글에서는 "매월 6,500만 명 이상의 트레이너가 포켓몬GO를 플레이한다. 우리는 그들의 열정에서 영감을 얻는다."고 말하며 "북반구에 찾아온 봄과 함께 플레이어들은 포켓몬GO에서 완전히 새로운 협력적인 소셜 게임을 기대해볼 수 있다. 포켓몬GO는 트레이너들에게 햇빛으로 돌아갈 새롭고도 신나는 이유를 줄 것이다." 라는 의미심장한 말을 남겼다.
이번 나이언틱의 글에 대해 국내 및 해외 커뮤니티에서는 최근 데이터 마이닝으로 유출된 레이드 관련 내용을 의식한 것으로 보인다는 의견과 과거 한차례 화제가 된 바 있는 교환과 배틀 시스템의 추가를 의미한다는 이야기가 나오고 있다. 또한, '햇빛으로 돌아갈 이유'라는 표현은 꾸준히 문제점으로 제기되온 Fake GPS 관련 언급일 것이라는 추측 역시 나오고 있다.

It’s been another incredible week for Pokémon GO.
Yesterday, Pokémon GO won the Best Mobile and Handheld Game at the British Academy of Film, Television and Arts Game Awards. We are surprised and grateful to be awarded this honor.
We owe the continued momentum and recognition to the dedicated players exploring the world and creating adventures together in Pokémon GO. Each and every award Pokémon GO has won is a testament to the game’s awesome and supportive community.
