We have a question: Who is the king in South Korea? Is it Faker? Madlife? Shy? It’s about time we find out, and we couldn’t be more excited to announce the Solo King Korean 1v1 Tournament, broadcast exclusively in English on Azubu! Additionally, PLU will be broadcasting the tournament in Chinese!

 

 

This 1v1 tournament will feature all the Korean greats dashing, bashing, juking, and duking it out in the middle lane of Summoner’s Rift. Looks like our question will be answered after all!

Here’s the low-down:

• A total of 48 players will be competing, including Faker, ssumday, Madlife, Watch, and more!
• Seeding will be random
• Matches will be best-of-3, single elimination, in the mid lane of Summoner’s Rift
• The first two games will be Draft mode; if there is a third game, it will be Blind Pick

 

The tournament begins at 9:30PM KST / 4:30AM PST on their scheduled days. Each group will have two days of action. Check below for their dates.

After the group stages are completed, the tournament will move onto the Round of 12 on March 2.

From there, the Round of 6 takes place on March 3. Additionally, the losers from A, B, and C will compete in a round robin to get back into the tournament on the same date!

The Semi-Finals Grand Finals will take place on March 8, where after a month of competition, we’ll finally be able to crown the Korean Solo King!

 

 

Rebroadcasts

Don’t want to get up at 4:30AM on the west coast? No problem. We’ll be rebroadcasting the tournament not once, but twice at 10AM PST and 4PM PST on the days the tournament is run.
