파티를 만드는 법과 파티퀘스트를 완료하는법

MapleStory is great fun to play on your own, and there are plenty of activities you can do by yourself. Since MapleStory is a massively multiplayer online game though, much of the fun comes about when you join together with other players to battle monsters and do group activities. When you join up with a group of other players, this is referred to as creating a “party.” Members of a party gain many special benefits, one of which is the ability to complete special quests called "Party Quests." 

메이플스토리는 혼자하는것도 아주 재미있고 그리고 몇몇가지 혼자할수있는 활동이 있습니다. 그러나 메이플스토리는 MMO 게임 (Massivly Multiplayer Online, 많은 사람들이 온라인으로 하는) 이기 때문에 다른 사람들과 어울려서 몬스터들과의 전투하는것이 재미잇습니다. 다른 사람들과 같이 어울리는것은 "파티"라고 합니다. 파티 멤버들은 특별한 혜택을 받고, 특히 "파티 퀘스트"라는 특별한 퀘스트를 완료할수있는 능력이 주어집니다.


In a previous AcornStory we discussed what a quest is, why they're so much fun, and detailed a great series of quests for low-level players. As we mentioned in that article, your character levels up by battling monsters and completing quests. This time we'll discuss the benefits of parties and how to go on Party Quests.

저번 도토리이야기에서는 퀘스트와 그것들이 왜 재미있는지, 그리고 레벨이 낮으신 분들을 위해 추천하는 퀘스트들을 올렷습니다. 그곳에서 말햇듯이 당신의 캐릭터는 몬스터들을 퇴치하고 퀘스트들을 완료할시 레벨업을 할수 있습니다. 이번에는 파티퀘스트를 했을시의 이득과 어떻게 파티퀘스트를 하는지에 대해 알려드릴 것입니다.

What is a Party?

파티가 뭔가요?


A "party" is formed whenever you join with other Maplers to battle monsters together. There are many reasons for this, not the least of which is that it's often more fun to play together with friends than alone. Being in a party also offers a number of tangible benefits:

"파티"는 메이플 유저들이 같이 몬스터들을 잡기위해 낄때 만들수 있습니다. 혼자 하는것보다 다같이 하는것이 재미있다는 이유 외에도 많이 있습니다. 파티 안에 있으면 이런 혜택을 받을 수 있습니다:

      • Party members on the same map will share an additional 10% EXP bonus from all monsters killed. 

같은 맵에 있는 파티 멤버들끼리는 몬스터를 잡을때마다 추가적인 10%의 경험치를 받으실 것입니다.
      • Certain abilities and skills offer additional benefits when used together by a party. 

몇몇 스킬은 파티 안에 있을때 효력이 더 세집니다.
      • The Party window in your buddy tool will show the job (class) and level of party members.

파티 창에서 파티 멤버들의 레벨과 직업을 알수 있으실 것입니다.
      • A member in another map or channel will have their name appear blurred.

다른 맵이나 채널에 있는 멤버의 이름은 흐려저서 나올 것입니다.
      • Placing the cursor over the member’s name will show you their current status.

커서를 이름 위에 올려놓으면 그들의 현재 상태를 알려줄 것입니다.
      • A small window will open that will show you the health of each member.

작은 창이 떠서 파티 멤버들의 체력을 알려줄 것입니다.
      • Party members have a special chat channel that only they can use. 

파티 멤버들끼리만 쓸수있는 특별한 채팅창이 있어 파티 멤버들끼리만 볼수 있습니다.
            o Use Party Chat by pressing “2” on your keyboard. This will move you to “Party Chat” when typing in the text box.

Creating a party

파티 만드는 법
Creating a party is done through your in-game “Buddy List” tool. This is a tool you can use to keep track of your in-game friends, party members, and your Guild. Any character level 10 or higher may create a party at any time. When you create a party, you are considered the “party leader.” As leader, you can invite other players into the party, expel them, or change party leadership. If you are already in another party you must leave that party before creating your own party.

파티를 만드는것은 커뮤니티 창에서 만들 수 있습니다. 커뮤니티 창에서는 친구, 파티, 길드 멤버들을 확인할 수 있습니다. 레벨 10 이상의 캐릭터는 언제든지 파티를 만들수 있습니다. 파티를 만들면 당신은 "파티장" 으로 취급받습니다. 파티장으로서 당신은 다른 유저들을 초대, 강퇴 그리고 파티장 양도 기능을 사용할수 있습니다. 만약 다른 파티 안에 들어가 있다면 먼저 그 파티를 탈퇴해야 됩니다.
 
To create a party: 

파티를 만들려면:
      • Open up your Buddy List (HotKey P)

커뮤니티 창을 여십시오 (핫키 P).
      • Click on the “Party” tab. 

파티 텝을 누르십시오.
      • Right click with your mouse on the player you want to invite 

초대하고 싶은 캐릭터에게 오른쪽 마우스 키를 누르십시오.
      • Select “Invite to Party” from the list. If they accept, they will join your party and their name will appear under the blue banner that reads “Party Member Online.”

리스트에서 "파티초대" 를 고르십시오. 만약 수락하면 그들은 파티에 참가하고 "온라인"이란 파란 배너 밑에 이름이 뜰 것입니다.

Pro Tip: You can invite other members into your party quicker by typing “/partyinvite character-name” in the textbox

프로 팁: "/파티초대 캐릭터이름" 을 쓰셔서 빠르게 다른 멤버들을 구할수 있습니다.

What is a Party Quest?

파티 퀘스트는 무엇인가요?

A Party Quest (PQ) is a task given to you by a resident of Maple World. Like an ordinary quest, you will often have to travel elsewhere, defeat monsters, complete tasks, and do various other things to finish them. The difference between a PQ and a regular quest is that PQs usually involve defeating monsters that are too strong for one player or fighting many more monsters than one player can handle or doing tasks that require more than one person. When this happens, you'll need to find other members to join up with you to form a party. 

파티퀘스트는 메이플월드의 주민으로서 해아 할 일입니다. 보통 퀘스트와 같이 다른 곳으로 이동하고, 몬스터들을 퇴치하고, 일을 끝내며 다른 잡다한 일을 다 끝내야 합니다. 그러나 파티퀘스트와 보통 퀘스트의 다른점은 파티퀘스트에서는 혼자 잡기 어려운 엄청나게 센 몬스터나 너무 많은 몬스터들을 상대해야 되기 때문입니다. 이런 일이 일어날때 다른 사람들을 찾아서 당신과 같이 파티를 해야합니다.

Party Quests will be identified in your Quest Journal with the words "Party Quest" next to them.

파티 퀘스트들은 퀘스트 창에서 이름 옆에 "파티퀘스트" 라고 쓰여저 있습니다.

Etiquette

에티켓 (매너)

You should always remember that the other characters that populate Maple World with you and may join with you on Party Quests are real people, not computer controlled characters. As such, they respond to both courtesy and rudeness in much the same way you would. If you are nice, most people will be nice in return. If you're rude, you're likely to receive the same treatment. Of course this isn't universal. Every world has its share of mean people, but by and large, you can't go wrong being nice and polite. "Please" and "Thank You" go a long way.

생각해야 할 점은 메이플 월드에서 만나는 사람들은 컴퓨터가 조종하는 캐릭터들이 아니라 진짜 사람이라는 것입니다. 그리하여 만약 당신이 거칠게 대한다면 그들도 당신에게 거칠게 대할 것입니다. 만약 잘 대한다면 보답이 오겟지요. 무례하게 군다면 똑같이 당합니다. 당연히 이게 꼭 그런건 아니죠. 거의 모든 월드들은 나쁜 사람들이 있지만 최소한 당신이 친절하게 군다면 그렇게 되지는 않겟죠. "제발요" 와 "감사합니다" 는 그런것들과 정반대입니다. 

You should also make an effort to learn Maple Story ettiquette. Certain actions and play styles are considered bad form and will get you yelled at or criticized. Of course as a new player, you're bound to make mistakes, so why not go out of your way to mention that you're new to anyone you group with? Often when someone knows you're new, they'll forgive your mistakes and help you learn the correct way to play.

그리고 또 메이플스토리의 에티켓을 배우기 위하여 노력을 해야 합니다. 몇몇 행위와 플레이 방법은 나쁘게 생각되어지며 욕을먹거나 비난받게 됩니다. 하지만 당신은 처음 한 사람이기 때문에 실수를 할수도 있으니 그들에게 처음 왔다고 말해주는건 어떤가요? 어쩔때는 그들이 만약 당신이 처음왔다는것을 알았을때 용서해주고 제대로 플레이 할수 있도록 가르쳐 줄겁니다.

Party Quest Etiquette

파티 퀘스트 에티켓(매너)

As with regular etiquette, Party Quest Etiquette is considered the "right" way to play MapleStory. These are the rules of behavior that apply specifically to Party Quests.

보통 에티켓(매너)와 같이 파티 퀘스트 에티켓(매너) 는 메이플스토리에서는 "옳은" 방법으로 플레이하는것입니다. 이것들이 바로 파티퀘스트를 할때 중요한 행동의 법칙입니다.

      • It's considered polite to go to the map where you recieve the PQ or the map in which you find the entrance to the PQ dungeon before you ask strangers to join your party. Otherwise you keeping people waiting while you cross Maple World.
파티 퀘스트를 하기 위해 사람들을 모을때는 파티퀘스트와 상관없는 맵에서 모으는것보다 파티 퀘스트를 받는곳이나 파티 퀘스트를 하기 전 맵에서 모으는 것이 예의입니다.
      • If you're inexperienced, you should inform your party and ask them for advice on what to do and what to watch out for. Try to listen and learn from more experienced party members, but merely being experienced doesn't excuse rudeness. If you feel an experienced party member is being unjustly harsh or critical, say so.

만약 당신이 경험이 없다면 파티 멤버들에게 조언이나 무엇을 조심해야 하는지 등의 것을 물어봐야 합니다. 경험이 많은 파티원들에게 귀를 기울여야 하지만 경험이 많다고 거만해지면 안되죠. 만약 경험자가 당신을 이유없이 박대하거나 비난한다면 느끼는대로 말해요.

      • If you wish to join a party that's going on a PQ, the way to request it is to type “JPQ” or “J>PQ” (Joining Party Quest) in the chat log.

만약 파티에 가입하여 파티퀘스트를 하고싶으면 "팟좀요" 아니면 "파티좀요" (원래 영어본문은 JPQ, Joining Party Quest, 즉 파티퀘스트를 가입한다~ 이말입니다. 참고: 외국에서는 앞글자를 아주 많이 씁니다. J는 Joining, R는 Recruit (모으다) F는 Find (찾다) 등등 있습니다.)라고 말하세요.

      • If you wish to add someone you don't know to your party, it's considered common courtesy to invite those who are asking "JPQ" before sending out random requests. 

만약 당신이 모르는 사람을 파티에 초대하고 싶으면 그냥 파티초대를 거는것보다 그 사람에게 파티에 가입할 의향이 있는지에 대해 물어보는게 예의입니다.

      • If you're looking for members to ad to your Party Quest group, it's considered courteous to let other members of your group know you're looking for members first. You may then type “RPQ” or “R>PQ” (Recruiting for Party Quest) in the chat log.

만약 파티를 모으기 위하여 광고를 하려면 먼저 파티원들에게 파티멤버를 모은다라고 말한다음 "팟하실분" 이나 "파티하실분" (원래 영어본문 RPQ, Recruiting Party Quest, 즉 파티원들을 모은다 그말입니다. 아까 Recruit는 모은다 라고 햇죠?) 이라고 말하세요.

      • If you want a specific item that will be dropped by a monster in the PQ, ask and get agreement from your party members before entering the PQ.

만약 파티퀘스트 중의 몬스터에게서 얻어지는 특정한 아이템을 갇고싶으면 먼저 파티원들에게 합의를 받으세요.

      • If you do a PQ multiple times, it's considered polite to take turns with your party members when picking up special loot.

파티퀘스트를 연속으로 할것이면 특별한 보상아이템을 차례대로 얻는것이 예의입니다.

      • The party members that do the most work (defined as doing the most damage or the most healing or other criteria agreed upon by the group) in a PQ are entitled to the majority of the loot. This can sometimes be a contentious discussion and it always works out better if everyone makes an effort to be polite and civil. 

파티에서 가장 많은 일을 하는사람들 (거의 보통은 데미지가 가장 높거나 힐링 (클레릭/프리/비숍) 아니면 파티원들이 합의를한 기준) 이 가장 먼저 보상을 받는것이 예의입니다. 이 문제는 어쩔때 논쟁이 될수 있지만 모두들 친절하고 예의있게 해결해낼라고 하면 의외로 쉽게 문제가 풀립니다.

      • If a party member doesn’t seem to know where to go next or doesn’t see an item they should pick up, ssomeone who does should go to the appropriate location and repeatedly jump, move back and forth, or duck and stand up.

만약 파티원이 어디로 가야할지 모르거나 어떤 아이템을 얻어야 할지 모른다면 누군가가 맞는 장소에 가서 연속적으로 점프하거나 앞뒤로 계속 움직이거나 숙이고 일어서는 등의 눈길을 끄는 행동을 할 수 있습니다.

      • Raising the fame of a good party member is a great way of saying "thanks."

좋은 파티 멤버의 인기도를 올리는것은 "감사합니다" 를 말하는 방법의 가장 좋은 방법입니다.

Monster Carnival Etiquette

몬스터 카니발 에티켓(매너)

Monster Carnivals are special Party Quests that have a competetive element. Two teams will enter and fight monsters and each team can only kill monsters that belong to the other team. By earning Carnival Points during this battle, one team or another will win the Carnival and be eligible for some great prizes. 

몬스터 카니발은 특별한 파티퀘스트로서 경쟁성이 있습니다. 두개의 팀이 참가해 몬스터들과 싸우고 각 팀은 다른 팀에게 주어진 몬스터들만 죽일수 있습니다. 카니발 포인트를 모아서 한팀이 다른팀을 이기고 좋은 보상을 받을수 있습니다.

Carnivals come with a few special etiquette rules:

카니발은 특별한 몇몇가지 에티켓(매너) 법칙이 있습니다.

      • Monster Carnivals will often allow teams to decide what monsters they would like to summon. If you want a particular monster or buff to be summoned, the proper way to request it is to do so before starting the round. If you do forget, you can send a message to a member of the opposing team, but this can be distracting and isn't considered very polite.

몬스터 카니발에서는 각 팀에게 어떤 몬스터를 소환할지 결정을 하게 해줍니다. 만약 특정한 몬스터나 버프가 소환되기를 원하신다면 라운드가 시작되기 전에 다른 팀에게 부탁하는 것이 올바른 방법입니다. 만약 까먹엇다면 상대팀의 멤버에게 메세지를 보낼수도 있지만 상대방을 방해해서 예의가 아닙니다.
      • Type “gg” into the chat window after close rounds with clean playing. "GG" stands for "good game" and is a nice way of letting the other team know you respect their skills and sportsmanship.

라운드가 끝나고 올바르게 게임을 끝냇다면 "수고" 나 "ㅅㄱ"(원문 영어 GG, 우리나라에서는 ㅈㅈ로 잘 알려져 있다.) 를 치세요. GG는 good game 의 줄임말이며 상대방의 능력을 존중한다고 알려주는 좋은 방법입니다.

      • If you see someone say “TW” before beginning a Monster Carnival, this means that the team would like to “trade wins” in order to maximize the benefits both teams get from the carnival. This is very common and when agreed to, players are expected to participate in an even number of rounds.

만약 다른사람이 시작하기전에 작파(원문 영어 TW, Trade wins(승리교환)줄임말) 라고 말하면 그것은 번갈아가면서 승리를 해서 최대한 각 팀에게 이득이 가도록 하는 것입니다. 만약 합의되엇을경우 이것은 매우 빈번히 일어나며 유저들은 짝수의 라운드에 참여해야 합니다.

      • Winning a round that you had agreed to lose while trading wins is considered very poor sportsmanship.

져야 할 라운드를 이겨버리는것은 형편없는 예의입니다.

      • “FFA” means “free-for-all.” The first round of trade win matches are often free-for-alls. Be sure you know which round you're in and whether your Monster Carnival is considered "TW" or "FFA."

"경쟁" 은 같이 경쟁한다는 것입니다. (영어 원문 FFA, free-for-all. 스타크래프트 하신분들은 많이 보셧겟죠. 개인전입니다. 그러나 여기서는 개인전이라고 하기보다는 우리나라의 경쟁 과같습니다.) 작파 의 첫번째 라운드는 거의다 경쟁 입니다. 당신이 어떤 라운드에 있는지 그리고 "작파" 나 "경쟁"인지를 잘 기억해주세요.

      • Leaving a Monster Carnival before the agreed upon number of rounds have been played is considered poor form. Abandoning your teammate(s) during a round is considered extremely poor form and can result in damage to your reputation as a player. If you must leave during a round because of real world issue, be sure to tell your party members what's happening and that you must leave. You need not tell them why, but a simple "Real world emergency, gotta go" doesn't take particularly long.

합의된 라운드를 다 끝내지 않고 그냥 가는것은 아주 안좋은 플레이방식입니다. 라운드중 당신의 파트너를 버리고 가는것은 플레이어로서의 명성에 흠집이 갈수 있습니다. 만약 현실에서의 문제때문에 나가야 한다면 파티 멤버에게 나가봐야 한다고 말해야 합니다. 꼭 왜 나가봐야 하는지는 말을 안해도 되고 "사정이 있어서 나가봐야 해요" 라고 하고 되도록 빨리 오세요.

한번 글로벌메이플스토리에 가보니 도토리이야기라는 코너가 있엇어요. 갑작스럽게 찾은거라서 최신꺼 먼저 해석을 햇네요. 전편들 엄청많은거같은데... 그래도 열심히 해야지요. 다 해석해서 올려야지...

이번에는 영어글 밑에다 한글을 썻어요. 악동거북이님이 조언을 해주셧는데 제가 생각해도 참 깨끗해 보이네요. 이제부터는 이렇게 써야겟습니다.
