미스핏츠전 이후 페이커 인터뷰 관련한 스레가 올라와 있네요.

 

개인적으로 흥미롭기도 했고 와중에 생각해볼만한 얘기들도 많이 오가는 것 같아서 가져와 봤습니다.

 

언제나처럼 재미를 위한 의역 선호, 선수비하나 서로 물고 늘어지는 댓글묶음들은 군데군데 걸렀으며 오역 및 오탈자 지적 환영합니다.

페이커 - 미스핏츠에 2-1로 지고 있을 때 “간절함이 부족했기에 질 때가 되었나 라는 생각을 했다”

 

 





* “우리가 2, 3경기를 진 이유는 우리 미드와 봇라인이 좀 더 발빠르게 맵을 쓰지 못했기 때문이라고 생각합니다. 그래서 초반조합을 짜기로 했고 그게 잘 풀렸어요.”

  진 경기에서도 페이커가 팀 내에서 제일 잘 해줬는데 그럼에도 페이커는 패배의 이유를 스스로한테서 찾는다는게 참 좋아보인다.

  "I think the reason we lost Games 2 and 3 was due to our mid and bot lane didn’t move more proactively around the map. We then decided to go for more early game champions as a result so it all worked out."

I like how he was the best performing player on their team during their losses but he still sees himself as one of the reasons of their loss.

 

 ㄴ 왜냐면 페이커는 현실주의자니까. 살면서 뭔가 한 단계 발전하고 싶다면 결국 자기 자신한테 제일 가혹한 비평가가 되어야 하는거야.

     Because he's realist, if you ever want to improve at anything in life you need to be your biggest critic.

 

 ㄴ 반면에 “서양의 페이커”라 불리는 놈은 트위터에다가 자기가 희생양이 됐다는둥 징징대고있으니 원 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

     LUL Actually can't disagree with this.

 

 ㄴ 현실적인 피드백이 없다면 더 이상 성장도 없는거임. 온갖 “칭찬들”이며 작은 성공같은 것들은 “어떻게 하면 여기서 더 발전할 수 있을까”대신에 “와 나 쩌네”하고 생각해버리게끔 만든다고.

     If you never get a realistic feedback - you can never grow. All the "praise" and littles success makes people think "i'm rlly g00d" instead of "how can i still improve?"

 

 ㄴ 진짜 공감된다 이거. 대부분은 다른 사람들이 그렇다고 했기 때문에 자기가 너무나도 잘났다고 생각하면서 스스로를 과대평가하게 마련이야. 그치만 진짜 현실파악을 할 필요가 있음.

     Thumbs Up for this. Most would just overestimate themselves because they thought they are already too good because others said so but people should do a reality check.


 ㄴ 이런 경우 진짜 자주 봄. 서양권 선수들이 “제발 날 좀 비난하지 마, 난 최선을 다했다니까, 너네가 모르는 문제들이 있었다고, 어쩌구 저쩌구”하는거. 한국 선수들은 “내 플레이가 좋지 않았네, 더 열심히 해야겠다”하지.

     It’s a trend I’ve seen too often. Western players “please don’t blame me, I did my best, other issues you guys don’t know about, etc”. Korean players “I didn’t play well, I needed to be better, etc”

 ㄴ 자기 스스로를 탓하는거랑 모든 사람한테 비난당하는건 완전히 다른 얘기지

     자기 팬들이랑은 다르게 말이지...우리도 좀 페이커만큼 현실주의자가 되자고.

* 한참 전에 전해들은 얘긴데 이게 실제로 한국 솔랭돌리는 일부 사람들의 멘탈인거같다. 만약에 지면 0킬 8뎃한 팀원이 있어도 자기가 승리할만큼 잘하지 못했다고 생각한다더라고. 

  that's actually some KR mentality in soloQ according to some people i heard a while back, if they lost, then they didn't do enough to win even if they have a 0/8 teammate.

 

 ㄴ 팀원들 까댈 시간이 있으면 본인이 어떻게 해야 게임을 캐리할 수 있었을지 생각해 볼 시간도 있는 거겠지. 최악은 최악을 부를 뿐이야 미드달리는 트롤짓같은거.

     If you have time to be critical and flame your team-mates, then you have time to think about how you could've carried the game. Worse comes to worse, just run it down mid.

 

 ㄴ LS 할머니를 본받도록 하자. (*어떤 롤 유투버가 할머니한테 전화해서 '할머니, 만약에 수학 조별과제같은 걸 해야하는데 나는 수학을 잘하지만 다른 팀원들이 너무너무 못하면 어떻게 해야할까요' 하고 묻자 할머니가 ‘그럼 내가 캐리하는수밖에 없지 뭐’라고 대답한 영상이 있습니다. 실제로 ‘캐리’라는 단어를 썼다는게 웃겨서 종종 언급되는듯)

* 진짜 멋진 말이야. 다른 사람도 아니고 페이커가 저런 말을 했기 때문에 더더욱 그래. 속으로 미스핏츠가 페이커한테 거의 사후세계를 보여줄 정도로 만들었다고 생각했는데 그럼에도 페이커는 거기서조차 회복해서 승리를 쟁취했지.

 SKT가 얼마나 더 승리에 굶주려있는 상대들한테서 죽음을 모면하려나? 이게 궁금해서 나는 아직도 SKT 경기들을 재밌게 본다.

  This is such a good quote, especially so because its coming from Faker. In my mind MSF made Faker see those visions of afterlife, but he yet again managed to snap back from them to stand victorious. How much longer can SKT manage to cheat death againts all these victory hungry opponents? Thats what still makes them a very interesting team for me to watch.

 

 ㄴ SKT는 영원히 죽음을 모면할거야. 왜냐면 걔네 미드라이너가 신이거든.

 ㄴ 한 7번쯤 우승하고나면 페이커도 좀 나태해지겠지

* 가끔은 이번엔 SKT가 졌으면 좋겠다고 말하기도 하는데... 올해는 아님. 결국은 이런 생각을 하게 되거든. 만약에 SKT가 한번 더 우승하면 어떨까.. 한 번만 더.. 왜냐면 왕관을 뺏을 준비가 되어있는 저 굶주린 늑대떼들 보란 듯이 SKT가 계속 우승한다면 난 그게 더 재밌을 것 같기 때문임. 그러지 못했을 때 좋아서 웃고 난리 날 인간들보다말이야.

  Sometimes I find myself saying I want SKT to lose this year... no this year..but then at the end I think what if.. they did just win one more time.. one more time because when they do continue winning in the face of hungry wolves ready to take their crown that is more impressive to me then roflstoming everyone

 

 ㄴ 나도 그래. 난 또 SKT가 우승하는걸 보고싶진 않다고, 그건 재미없을거라고 스스로 되뇌었거든. SKT가 왕좌에서 내려오고 서양권 팀이 롤드컵 한번이라도 우승하는 환상을 갖고 있다고도 정말 많이 얘기했었어.

     그런데 실상 SKT가 미스핏츠한테 2:1로 끌려가게 되니까 맘 속 깊은 곳에서 아 SKT가 역전했으면 좋겠다 하는 생각이 드는거야. 졌으면 좋겠다고 생각하던 팀을 응원하게 되면서 그제서야 난 깨달았지. 

     내가 SKT를 사랑하고 있다는 걸. 가까스로 패배를 면하고 SKT가 승리하게 된 순간 뭐랄까.. 어쩐지 우주가 다시 질서를 되찾은 느낌이었어.

     Same. I kept telling myself that I don't want to see SKT win again, that it would be boring. I've said numerous times that I wish they were dethroned and fantasized about a western team winning the worlds for once.

But when they were actually down 2-1 to Misfits, somewhere deep down I wanted SKT to come back. I was rooting for the guys I wanted to see lose and realized that I love them. When they climbed out from the face of defeat, it somehow felt like the universe was back in order.

 

 ㄴ 아마 내 생각엔 아직 롤드컵 초반이고 걔네 경기력이 안 좋았기 때문인것같다. 5전제에서 진 적이 없는 SKT가 미스핏츠 상대로 3-1로 진다는게 뭔가 잘못된 것 같았어. 우리 게임의 전설인 SKT가 그런 식으로 패배한다는 게.

     I think it was because it was too early in worlds and they were playing bad. SKT has never loss a series for them to lose 3-1 vs misfits just felt wrong, the legends of our game defeated like that.

 

 ㄴ 나한텐 다른 팀이 우승하려면 폼이 최고일때의 SKT를 꺾고 롤드컵을 우승하는게 중요함. SKT가 왕좌에서 내려오기 전에 페이커가 은퇴하거나 스크가 해체되거나 등등 뭐 그런 일이 있으면 그 다음 우승자는 뭔가 잘못된 느낌이 들 것 같아. SKT는 마치 롤의 마지막 보스같은 느낌이거든

     it's important to me that if someone else does win worlds that they beat a top-form skt to do it

if faker retires or skt disbands the team or something before they're able to be dethroned, the next championship won't feel right, they're like the final boss of lol

 

 



 

 

* 이번 SKT가 그간의 롤드컵중 제일 약해보이는 것 같다

  This is probably the weakest SKT has ever looked at worlds

 

 ㄴ 동의함. 심지어 난 페이커가 그룹스테이지에서 약해보인다도고 생각했었음. 근데 페이커의 스탯을 보게 됨...

     다른 팀들이 페이커만 후벼팠었는데도 페이커는 여전히 미드라이너들 중에 제일 높은 킬 관여율을 보유함... 그리고 페이커 말고는 기껏해야 평범하게 보임. 스크가 올해도 우승할지는 모르겠지만 페이커는 진짜 존나 우승할만한 자격이 있음 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

     Agreed. Initially I even thought faker looked weak in groups , then I saw his stats ......

     Teams camped the absolute living filth out of him and he still maintained the highest KP of mid laners...and his lanes STILL managed to look meh at best. Idk if skt wins this year but damn does faker seriously deserve it lol

 ㄴ 문제는 이번 롤드컵에서도 SKT는 여전히 다른 팀들보다 빛난다는거임. 네 주장이 맞다는건 그냥 작년 롤드컵에서 SKT가 얼마나 압도적으로 강했는지를 강조해줄 뿐임

     The problem is, even this Worlds, they still outshine other teams. The fact that your statement is correct only underlines their outrageous dominance over the last Worlds they played

 

 ㄴ 매번 누가 이런 말 할 때마다 결국 SKT가 그냥 밟아버림.

     만약에 SKT가 RNG상대로 한 경기 지면 난 “우지가 페이커 싸다구날림”이라 써있는 케익을 먹겠다

     Every time someone says this, they stomp after.

 ㄴ 페이커, 뱅, 울프, 블랭크, 꼬마가 서로를 매일 봐야한다는 것에 좀 질린 듯한 순간이 있었지. 이미 3번이나 우승해봤기 때문에 승리를 향한 열망을 잃은 것 같은 순간도.

     후니는 동기부여가 되어있는 것 같던데 한 명만 그래서야 전체 팀원들의 의욕을 높여줄 연료는 안 된단 말이야.

     그래서 난 올해는 삼성이 우승할 것 같음. 크라운은 어느때보다도 간절해보이거든. 사실 삼성 팀원들 모두가 그래 보여.

     theres a point when faker, bang, wolf, blank, kkoma get tired of seeing each other every day, they might've lost their drive to win worlds knowing they already achieved that goal 3 times over

     huni looks motivated but 1 person's desire might not be enough to fuel a whole team's drive

     thats why i feel SSG is gonna win worlds, crown looks hungrier than ever, actually their whole team looks hungry

 ㄴ 피넛은 한국에서 배그넛이라 불리고있음. 페이커는 롤 말고 다른 게임 하는걸 거부했는데 다른 팀원들은 전부 배그를 했거든. 그 결과가 드러나는거라고 봄.

     Peanut's being called as Ba(ttle)g(rounds)nut by Koreans. All SKT members play PUBG except Faker who refuses to play other game than LoL, and it shows.

 

 ㄴ 그래도 페이커는 폴리브릿지 하던데.

     Faker plays competitive PolyBridge though.

 ㄴ 그리고 그 전엔 보쉬 했었음. 큐 돌릴 때 말고는 페이커는 딴 게임을 거의 안하는것같더라.

     Also seen him play that boshy game before that. I guess he just rarely plays other games outside of queue for league.

 

 


 

* 이거 사실 되게 내밀하고 솔직하기 그지없는 얘기네. 그렇게나 우승을 많이 하고 나면 결국은 예전처럼 승리를 갈망하지는 않게 되어버리는 거라고.

  This shit is actually deep, honest af, You would think after winning so much, eventually you just arent as hungry for the Glory anymore.

 

 ㄴ 이건 뭐랄까.. SKT는 더 이상 증명할 게 없잖아 사실?

     이 롤이라는 게임에서 의심의 여지없이 전무후무한 최고의 선수인 페이커에게는 뭐 경쟁자라고 불릴만한 상대조차 없는게 자명하고. SKT가 이뤄놓은 업적들에 근접이라도 할만한 팀도 없잖아. 그니까 SKT는 롤드컵에서 우승한 최초의 한국팀이고, 한번 이상 우승한 최초의 팀이고, 그 다음 롤드컵에도 출전해 최초의 연속 우승 트로피를 거머쥐었고, 최초로(그리고 지금까지로서는 유일하게) 롤드컵에서 우승한 한국 1시드 팀이자 같은 해에 주요 국제대회 3개를(IEM이 더 이상 중요하지 않았던 그때) 제패했고, 지금껏 최고로 많은 LCK결승 진출 기록과 우승 타이틀을 보유하고 있고... SKT는 벌써 절대로 잊혀지지 않을 자신들의 업적을 롤 역사에 아주 강렬하게 새겨 놓은 거야.

     이쯤되면 이제 더 이상 신경 쓰지 않게 되는 순간이 오게 되는 거지, 다음 우승은 그냥 다음 우승, 그뿐인거야. 그리고 이 게임에 어마어마한 노력을 쏟아 붓고서 그 보상으로 받게 될 것이 그만한 가치가 있을지를 평가하게 되겠지. 게다가 걔넨 분명 아주 기진맥진해 있는 상태일거란말야. 시즌들 사이에 그다지 오래 쉬지도 못했을테니까.

     It's like... What else do they got to prove, really?

     There is absolutely no one that can even be a contender to Faker's spot as the unquestionable best player this game has ever had. There is no team that is even remotely close to the sheer amount of achievements SKT has.

I mean, they were the first KR team to win Worlds, first team to win Worlds more than once, first team to win Worlds and qualify to the following World Championship, first back to back World Champions, first (and so far, only) KR first seed to win Worlds, first team to win the 3 (at the time, since IEM doesn't matter anymore) major international Tournaments in the same year, the team with the, by far, most LCK finals and titles... SKT has already made their mark so deeply in LoL competitive lore that they will never be forgotten. There comes a time where you just don't care that much anymore, and the next Championship is just that, the next Championship. And then you need to evaluate if what you are getting in return to the unbelievable effort you need to put into the game is really worth it. That and they must be massively burnt-out. It's not like they get a lot of down time between seasons.

 

 ㄴ 많은 얘기들이 나왔는데.. 그럼에도 SKT는 올해도 4강에 올라갔음. 상태가 별로일때조차 SKT는 잘해.

     With all that being said... They're still in the semi finals this year.. Even when they suck, they're good.

 

 ㄴ 그치만 한국 팀이랑 안 만나고 4강올라간거잖아. 그건 반칙이라고!

     But they got to the semis without facing a korean team. That's cheating!

 

 ㄴ SKT는 롤드컵 오려고 대부분의 한국 팀들을 엄청 많이 이겼고, 그룹 스테이지를 가능한 쉽게 가려고 큰 그림 그려서 몇몇 게임을 던짐. 이건 반칙이 아니야 똑똑한거지.

     They beat most korean teams many times to get to worlds, then wrote a script and threw a few key games to make their group stage as easy as possible. It's not cheating, it's being smart.

 

 ㄴ ‘이 롤이라는 게임에서 의심의 여지없이 전무후무한 최고의 선수인 페이커에게는 뭐 경쟁자라고 불릴만한 상대조차 없는게 자명하고.’

     페이커는 무슨 완벽한 만화 속 캐릭터같음. 아무도 자기가 가진 힘에 상대가 안 되니까 지루해지는..

* 폼은 순간이지만 클라스는 영원하다. 난 SKT가 다시 돌아올거라 믿고 있음!

  Form is temporary but class is permanent. I hope you guys can bounce back!

 

 





* 난 SKT가 또 한번 롤드컵 우승할 가능성이 높다고 생각하지만 이 로스터는 내년에 완전 바뀔 것 같네.

  팀원들 대다수가 그다지 절실하지 않거나 승리에 대한 동기부여가 안 된다면야 난 뱅울프가 은퇴하고 피넛이 이적한다고 하더라도 별로 놀라지 않을 것 같음. 왜냐면 피넛은 락스에 있었을때랑 비교하면 별로 즐거운 것 같지 않거든.

  I'm on the camp that SKT will most likely win Worlds again, but this roster will entirely change up next year.

If most of them are not desperate or motivated to win again, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bang and Wolf retire and Peanut move to another org because he def is not having any fun time at all compared to when he was in ROX.

 

 




* 이게 아마 페이커가 죽고 나서 다른 때보다 훨씬 더 화가 나 보였던 이유겠지.

  That might be why Faker looked more upset from dying than other times in his career.

 





* 난 SKT가 3연 우승해서 최초로 롤드컵 3연속 우승한 팀이 됐음 좋겠다. 마이클조던이랑 시카고불스가 처음으로 3연우승했던 것처럼. 페이커랑 잘 어울릴 것 같음.

  want SKT to win their 3rd straght title so they will be the first ever 3-peat Worlds League champions. Just like how MJ and his Bulls were the first 3-peat, it would be fitting for Faker

 






* 더 많은 사람들이 SKT가 지길 원하는데 내 생각엔 그게 페이커한테 오히려 동기부여가 되는 것 같음.

  Since more people want skt to lose, i think that's what motivates Faker more.

 오늘 WE vs C9경기는 못보기도 했고 나중에 레딧을 확인해보니 반응이 썩 재밌지도 않아서 이걸 대신 가져왔습니다.


 개인적으로 페이커선수는 저보다 어린데도 존경할만한 부분을 많이 갖고 있어서 항상 대단하다고 생각했는데

 이번 인터뷰도 여전히 참 멋있네요.

 남은 롤드컵 일정도 힘내서 원하는 결과 얻었으면 좋겠습니다.


 원글엔 다른 선수들 비하로 싸움 비스무리하게 난 부분들이 있었는데, 많이 거르긴 했지만 여기선 안 그랬으면 좋겠습니다.
