Punching Above Its Tier

Molotov's 180 mm/57 MK-3-180 guns are the same models that appear on the tier IX Dmitri Donskoi. Compared to tier VI ships, Molotov's shell trajectory is much "flatter" due to its shell speed being 920 m/s. A flatter trajectory means you're much more likely to punch into the side of your target (as opposed to the top) and into vital ship components. Use your 15.5km range and high rate of fire to harass the enemy and minimize the danger to your own ship. You can even boost your range to over 18km using your "Spotting Aircraft" consumable.

Objectives, Objectives, Objectives

As a cruiser, one of Molotov's early-game duties will be to hunt the enemy vanguard -- typically destroyers and other speedy cruisers. However, once the battle reaches the mid- to end stages, use the ship's 36 knots to secure and defend objectives. Position her so that she can react quickly to more than one front (i.e., don't commit too hard to a side of the map where you can't defend or support your allies).
